Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from and where do you live?

Hello, my name is Khairul amin or also known as k__amin. Originally, I’m from Bandar Baru Bangi in Selangor, Malaysia. I’m 27 years old coming this September and I have been taking photos since 2013 because of a heartbreak. Since then I’m using photography as my medium to express my emotions, while building up my passion in it using only mobile phones. One thing about me is that I don’t see myself influencer, but as a photographer. So, the questions asked will be answered as me being a photographer.

What 3 things does any new influencer need to know?

-Build up your identity/style for your brand

-Have a good mindset and a strong will

-Be humble, despite whoever & wherever you are.

What would you do differently if you were starting in your industry now?

I think I’d do the same as I did before, no changes. Because that’s how I have always been, even before.

What is the #1 key to success as a photographer?

-Do not give up & always do it for yourself.

What does a typical day in your life look like?

I have online classes to go thru on the weekdays while going to the gym for my training 5 days a week, going out for a photo walk 3-4 times a week. For my free time, I’d watch some Netflix series and play my monster hunter game on my switch.

What keeps you going when things get tough or does not go the way you want it to go?

I would just keep telling myself “it’s okay Amin, it’s okay.” Hahahah and then I’d take a moment to build myself back because I always believe in “time will heal everything.” So, everything’s gonna be okay. Keep on living, you don’t wanna miss out life while time’s running out.

How would you describe your personal brand?

-It’s when people would know it because of your style and identity you have in your photos.

When did you realize that your hobbies could become a job?

When I started getting paid for my photos and the value grew as I gained much more experience over time by participating actively in photography, exploring and learning.

How did you grow your channel?

By the emotions I expressed in my photos.

Who is your biggest inspiration?

My friends, they inspire me to grow up and forward.

What is the best thing about being an influencer and what is the worst?

The best thing? I love it when I’m getting paid for something that I love doing. And the worst? When you have a close deadline to catch while having other stuff to do.
