Kim Kardashian’s skincare line SKKN by Kim and why I am not buying it.
So after the death of KKW Beauty, Kim Kardashian finally announce her new skincare line SKKN by KIM. The skincare line is another new business venture for the billionaire reality star who owns multiple businesses such as SKims. The brand was announced on June 1st and will be released on 21st June.
SKKN by Kim has announced 9 products, from cleansers to face oil. The price is on the very luxury side. The reason she stated this is cause she used the ingredients to make its prestige. Also stated it’s more affordable than the products she uses. *eye roll* Girl you are a billionaire and people like me who follows you are hardly making our ends meet. I am a skincare enthusiast and have been for the last 5 years. I ain’t no pro but I try to read and understand new skincare trends. The above mentions ranges are basic everyday skincare items. The Instagram page of SKKN by Kim fails to mention the target market. What problems the SKKN by Kim is tackling. Also is this the brand she launched for her friends because with the inflation going up around the world I don’t think any normal people like me will be able to afford it? This is a brand for influencers and rich people.
And no, money is not the only reason I won’t buy it. I spent more than 150€ on KKW beauty when it was launched. Just for 2 products, with shipping and custom taxes in Spain, the products were below average. The NYX contour stick was way better but I get it the KKW beauty had Kim’s name on it. Never got to order her perfume because of customs charges. KKW beauty was her “hard work” she spent so much time formulating the perfect consistency and blah blah and out of a sudden, she kills her brand. I understand the reason might be W in KKW Beauty but she could have rebranded it. SKKN by Kim is just her business venture with COTY which owns 20% of her beauty company and there were getting impatient with the death of KKW beauty and fragrances.
The other and the only reason I will avoid this brand is the sheer lie she is selling. I have watched each and every season and episode of KUWTK and now The Kardashian. She has access to the best dermatologist, aesthetician, and surgeon. She made vampire facial famous. Her whole family relies on cosmetic procedures be it fillers or facials. So she selling her skincare saying this is what she uses for her young-looking skin is bullshit. Kris Jenner is 66 years old and she looks younger than me and I am only 30. So now if she is not providing me with the free voucher (coz I am broke bitch) for the facial and treatment she is getting regularly no one can convince me to buy them. $575 dollar for the whole set, Fuck me I would rather save up for my electricity bill which will be around $575 in 4 months due to inflation.
