Pakistani Tiktoker Saher Hayat harassed in Kashee Beauty Salon

Famous Pakistani Tiktok influencer Saher Hayat with 8.7 million followers on TikTok and 1.6 million followers on Instagram claimed she has been harassed in the very famous Beauty Salon “Kashee Beauty Parlour” in Pakistan by their staff.

Here are details that we know till now:

When Tiktoker Saher Hayat went to Kashee’s beauty parlor for her photoshoot in Lahore, she was harassed by the male makeup artist there. She was bullied and asked to pull down the neckline of her shirt. And more which she doesn’t want to mention. She provided multiple screenshots of her WhatsApp conversations with Kashee Beauty Parlour in Lahore. She also mentioned for now she won’t be taking any legal actions.

With the allegations from Saher Hayat, Owner of Kashees Beauty Parlour Kashif Aslam’s sister Anum Aslam came out on her brother’s defense with some half-witted CCTV camera footage. Whereas the private WhatsApp chat Saher Hayat showed said a different story. In the voice note, it was mentioned the male staff was sorry and he doesn’t want Saher to publicize his action as he might lose his job. What was that about? We have no answer on that from Anum or Kashif.

We don’t know what’s fact or what’s not. But here is my personal take on this situation. Harassment is as common in south Asia as it is anywhere. But victim-blaming is very much prevalent. When Saher Hayat came with her harassment, many other models and influencers came out on Kashee’s defense. I am not saying they were paid or victim-blaming but they should understand not all of them have the same experiences. You cannot deny or shame other people’s experiences on your account.

Sehar Hayat clearly mentioned she was harassed by a male worker working for Kashee beauty parlor in Lahore, not by Kashif Aslam himself. And as a business owner, he is not taking any answerability for his staff and business. On contrary, we can see people slut shaming her on multiple social media accounts. She is being harassed online for her choice of career. And the only reason is she was bold enough to share her experience with her follower who is women in the majority.

Along with Saher Hayat, other Pakistani influencers like Romisa khan, Zarnab Fatima, and Duaa Fatima has also shared their bad experience in Kashee’s.

Being a South Asian woman myself, I can clearly tell this is the reason why most brown women don’t speak against any harassment. We are blamed as it is our fault for being harassed. And men are not held accountable. Why are women being treated like third-class citizens for mentioning their own experiences? Why are Women made to keep shut of their experiences?
